I want to share with you the GREATEST news in the history
of mankind! Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose
again three days later. Sure, you've probably heard
it a MILLION times, whether it was from your parents,
your grandparents, from sitting in church for countless
hours listening to the preacher yell and scream, etc.
Maybe you've never heard of Jesus before, or you have
huge misconceptions about Him. Maybe you've heard that
He's mean, nasty, doesn't give a crap about you at all
and is just waiting for that PERFECT moment to strike
you down with a bolt of lightning. Well, these claims,
i must say, are WAY off and are not true by any means
whatsoever. That's what the Devil himself merely wants
you to think. Here's the truth about Jesus:
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world (that
includes you) that he gave his one and only son (Jesus)
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but
have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world, but to save the
world through Him."
This verse basically says that God loved the world
SO MUCH that He gave Jesus, His only son so that whoever
(that means everybody) believes in him will live forever
and be saved from sin. You see, God's intention was
NEVER to condemn the world and send judgement upon
us. He wants a personal relationship with us! Think
about it!! God is the master of the universe-how could
he even CARE about us since we're so rebellious against
Him? But yet, he DOES care about us and wants that
friendship with us. He sent His son son that you may
receive salvation through His death on the cross.
But what IS salvation? First of all, salvation cannot
be obtained by going to church countless times. It
can't be obtained by anything else except Jesus. For
example, a devout Buddhist is just as lost as a murderer
on the streets. Why? Here's why:
John 14:6- "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the
truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the father but
through me."
There it is- plain and simple. Jesus is the ONLY
way to God, and the ONLY way to receive salvation.
It is not obtained by mere works or good deeds either.
Ephesians 2:8,9- ""by grace you have been
saved through faith... it is the gift of God, not
of works, so that no one can boast."
You see, there is no way that you can "earn"
salvation through good deeds or through being a good
person. But hey...you're probably thinking that you're
a good person-you probably haven't killed anybody
or stole anything. Maybe you're even a church member!
Yet, there really is no such thing as a "good
person." It says in Romans 3:23 that "all
have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
You can give to the poor all you want to, become a
priest, a pastor, go to church as much as you can.
But look- if you haven't
accepted Jesus Christ into your heart and made Him
your Savior and put Him as your #1 objective in your
life, you're still lost and dead in your sins!! Salvation
and getting saved is a GIFT.
What IS a gift? Simple- it's something that is freely
given to you out of genuine love, without deserving
it or doing anything to get it! Salvation is a FREE
GIFT. Something that is offered to EVERYBODY. But
maybe you're a really BAD person. Maybe you've done
drugs, had sex multiple times, broken the law, etc.
You're probably thinking that you can't enter God's
kingdom because of your past failures and mistakes.
Well let me assure you this:
"The Lord is...not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance" (II Peter
3:9)
God doesn't want ANY of us to go to hell and be eternally
separated from Him! He wants ALL to come to repentance-
He wants ALL to become part of His family! That includes
you!
John 6:37-"All that the Father gives me will
come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive
away."
Whether you're a religious fanatic or a mass murderer,
Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you.
He died on the cross and rose to life three days later
so that you can spend eternity with Him in heaven-
a place where there is no pain, no hurt, no tears,
and no sadness. It's a place of joy, happiness, all
the food you could ever eat, beautiful gold streets,
and best of all, it's a place where we can know EVERYTHING
there is to ever know about God and we can talk to
Him face to face. Not only THAT, but if you
accept the free gift of salvation, God will turn your
life around in MIRACULOUS and awesome ways! He's changed
mine, and he's AWESOME. Without Him, i'm empty, i'm
lonely, i'm depressed, and my life just SUCKS. Quite
frankly, your life sucks too if you don't give your
life to Him. What would be the whole point of gaining
all that one could gain, having power and riches,
all the women a man could ask for, having all the
material things that a man could possibly store up
for himself..........and, about 50 years later, die
and leave it all on earth and spending ETERNITY in
Hell?! It's useless; it's a wasted life.
If you would like to become a Christian and receive
the free gift of salvation, pray a prayer that goes
something like this:
"Jesus, I confess that I need You. My own works
are not good enough. I have sinned, and I need to
receive this free gift. I confess you as Lord, and
believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead.
Lord Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit; guide me
to a Bible-believing church; and help me to read your
Word. Thank you for dying for me. Amen"
